Wayne Brown
Managing Director
Wayne served in various management positions within Lime Distributors prior to being appointed Managing Director of that subsidiary in 1998. During 2007 his responsibilities were extended to include the Lime Division’s marketing function before being appointed to the position of Deputy Managing Director. Following the formation of SynChem/Bud Chemical and Minerals Wayne was appointed to the position of Managing Director of Idwala Industrial Holdings Limited.
Jaco Swanepoel
Chief Operating Officer
Jaco started his career at Idwala Lime in Danielskuil in 1988. He worked there until 2000 when he was appointed as Engineering Superintendent of Industrial Minerals in Benoni. During 2008 Jaco was appointed as the Quarry Manager of Idwala Lime in Danielskuil. In 2012 he relocated to Lime Distributors in Vereeniging as Plant Manager and was later appointed as the General Manager of that plant. He returned to Idwala Lime in Danielskuil during 2014 as General Manager. Idwala Industrial Holdings went through a restructuring process during 2019 when he was promoted as General Manager for the Lime Division that included the operations at Danielskuil and Vereeniging. During 2021 Jaco was appointed as COO, responsible for all Idwala’s operations.
Jaco Vorster
Chief Financial Officer
Jaco Vorster is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA). He is the Chief Financial Officer at Idwala Industrial Holdings and responsible for the Finance Shared Services, Business Partnering, Financial Reporting, Commercial and IT departments. Jaco has 13 years of service at Idwala and its subsidiaries. Previous roles at Idwala include Head of Acquisitions and Integration, Head of Finance Business Partnering, Divisional Financial Manager and Financial Manager. He has prior experience in the medical industry as a Financial Accounting Manager. He completed his articles at DCV audit firm in Centurion and studied at the University of Johannesburg and the University of South Africa.
Eugene van Aswegen
Head of Sales and Marketing
Eugene has been involved in the cement and lime industry for 37 years. He joined Idwala Industrial Holdings in 2009. Prior to this he worked for Lafarge Cement and was part of the Leader for Tomorrow program, spending 3 months at Insead Business School near Paris, France. Eugene has focused on Industrial Sales and Marketing and has spent many years selling cement and lime in Africa.
Gary Wood
Head of Supply Chain
Gary has been in the logistics industry for 35 years. He joined the Lime Distributors team in 1993. Prior to this, he worked at Waste-tech where he was involved in the disposal of various hazardous wastes. During his time at Idwala, Gary has been instrumental in the development of Idwala owned dedicated vehicles. These vehicles are highly optimised to perform at levels beyond industry norms which allows Idwala to offer its customers superior service at highly competitive rates.
Pam Lindsay
Head of Human Resources
Pam initially joined Idwala in November 2012. She has 20 years of experience within the HR. She started out her HR career within a consulting company working with clients in various industries, ranging from manufacturing, retail, insurance, education to publishing and advertising before taking up a Management role within the Steel industry for 6 years before taking up her current role.
Sally Reddy
Head of IT
Sally, initially appointed as a Technical Secretary at the Carbonates Operation in 1998, has an affinity for plants and processes. She holds a BCOMM degree which she obtained from University of KwaZulu Natal. Believing strongly that it is product and not knowledge that belongs in silos, she entered a graduate trainee program, working across many areas of the business but finding her calling in IT. She was appointed as a Business Systems Analyst for the Idwala Group in 2000 and relocated to Gauteng in 2016, joining the shared services team at Idwala Head Office. She was promoted to Support Manager in 2017. In her current position, Sally is responsible for Idwala’s Infrastructure and Applications landscape. Sally may spend the better part of her days in the virtual world but is passionate about people, growth, development and the role technology plays both in the organisation and our daily lives.
Zaiboonisa Moosa
Head of Legal and Company Secretary
Zaiboonisa Moosa is currently the Head of Legal and Company Secretary at Idwala. Providing strategic legal advice to the Group. She has worked for parastatals, huge multinationals- both listed and unlisted. Through her various roles in senior legal management and as an independent non-executive Board Member, she has been exposed to a range of sectors and corporate cultures. She is an Admitted Attorney and Notary, and holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Masters of Law (LLM) from the University of Witwatersrand and a Higher Diploma in Company Law from the University of Witwatersrand.

Atang joined Idwala in 2013, as a graduate trainee after having been a bursar through Idwala’s bursary scheme. He holds a B.Sc.(Eng.) degree in Mining Engineering which he obtained from The University of the Witwatersrand. After a year and a half of his graduate programme, Atang was given the opportunity to act as Quarry Superintendent at Idwala Carbonates for 6 months and was subsequently promoted to Quarry, Quality and Environmental Manager in 2015. In 2016 he was appointed as Plant Manager for Industrial Minerals and was promoted to General Manager of Industrial Minerals and Magnetite in 2017 where he was responsible for Idwala’s mining and production operations at Ottosdal, Benoni and Phalaborwa. Subsequent to consolidation at a divisional level, Atang was then promoted to Idwala Industrial Minerals Divisional General Manger in 2019 where he is now also responsible for the Idwala Carbonates mining and beneficiation plant near Port Shepstone, KwaZulu Natal.
